Welcome!
I come from a family of remediators: my parents met while working on the confinement shelter at the Chernobyl site. I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine and moved to Northern Virginia in 2004, where I grew up surrounded by a deep awareness of how human decisions shape environmental outcomes. From an early age, I was taught to consider the impact of every decision I make, especially those that affect our planet. This has evolved into a passion for freshwater and the complex, ways human activities influence aquatic ecosystems.
This is a picture to the right is of my brother and me canoeing on Goose Creek :)

I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I got my M.S. in Freshwater and Marine Science, advised by Dr. Hilary Dugan. My thesis focused on linking chloride (road salt) dynamics in an urban lake (Lake Wingra) with precipitation variability.
In 2022 I graduated from James Madison University with a major in Integrated Science and Technology and minors in Geographic Science and Environmental Information Systems. My research consisted of stream monitoring and restoration to introduce brook trout.
This picture is of me on Lake Wingra doing some winter sampling.
